Sapphire and ceramic components are used in Analytical Instrumentation and Biotech applications (such as pistons, check valve components, bearings, mechanical parts, nozzles and assemblies), as well as in Medical and Dental equipment (as laser tips, lenses, and blades). Sapphire windows and lenses are required components of many optoelectronic applications such as sensors, detectors, and blue LEDs.

Check valves for high and low pressure pumps can come as complete assemblies. Check valves can operate to pressures up to 25,000 psi and check valve cartridge assembly components can be made out of a variety of materials such as PEEK™, stainless steel, sapphire, ruby, titanium, and Kel-F® materials.

Pistons

Our partners manufacture the highest quality, tightest tolerance pistons and piston assemblies available. In fabricating the piston assemblies, they assemble a ceramic, sapphire or ruby piston into a custom ferrule - made of high-quality stainless steel. Because they hold the outer diameter of the piston and the inner diameter of the ferrule to such tight tolerances, they use a proprietary "press fit" or "heat set" technique to assemble the piston into the ferrule. This is a major benefit over competing products because they use no adhesives to assemble the sapphire (or ruby or ceramic) piston rod into the ferrule.
